About

art therapy, play therapy, children, teenager, emotional problems, therapist, counsellor, autism, adhd, dyslexia, dyspraxia.

I am a fully qualified Child Art Psychotherapist and fully registered member of the Association of Child Art Psychotherapists (ACAP).  I hold a MSc in Child Art Psychotherapy with University College Dublin and the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Sculpture from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin.

I work for the MSc Child Art Psychotherapy course as Course Co-ordinator and Adjunct Lecturer. I currently work in private practice in the Willow Tree Child and Family Therapy Centre. I have experience working voluntarily with Barnardos, One Family and Sophia Housing. I trained with Temple Street Children’s University Hospital on the ADHD team for 18 months. I previously volunteered as an Art Tutor with the Volunteer Strokes Scheme, with people recovering from substance abuse problems (Casadh) and with children on art projects (Luas/St James’s Sculpture Project, ArtPlay, etc).

I provide professional and confidential Art Therapy for children and young people. I offer care, respect, encouragement, and understanding which supports children/young people to work through emotional challenges and to achieve better emotional health. I also offer therapeutic workshops and talks for schools and establishments.

I keep up to date with all the latest developments in mental health and child development theory and practice, and regularly engage in continuing professional development.
